September Chapter Meeting

Our guest speaker this month is Douglas Sherrod, Director of Marketing for Espion International, Inc., a Baton Rouge based digital records security company. He will address some of the IT challenges and opportunities resulting from the Health Care Spending Provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The act provides $17.2 billion in financial incentives to promote the use of electronic health records and other health information technology.

Our September meeting will be held Thursday, September 9, 11:30 to 1:00 at DeAngelo's, 7970 Jefferson Hwy. The lunch fee is $25 for members and guests.

Baton Rouge AITP Receives "Outstanding Chapter" Award

We are proud to announce that our chapter has received the Region 3 Outstanding Chapter award! This award recognizes a chapter in each Region that has performed in an outstanding manner in the areas of education, membership, public relations, chapter meetings, and association participation. Thanks to all who have worked so hard to build our chapter.


AITP Student Conferences

The 2010 Region 3 Student Conference will be held October 21-23 on the University of Houston campus. The conference will be hosted by the Houston professional chapter and the University of Houston student chapter.
    

The 2011 AITP National Collegiate Conference will be held March 27-29 at the Orlando Hilton. NCC 2011 will be hosted by the Polk County AITP chapter.
